The Fed meeting this week in Jackson Hole, WY, confirmed the expectation that we will see a 'change in policy' moving forward, with an end to rate hikes likely to be replaced by rate cuts. These changes will likely result in lower mortgage rates across the nation and in Greater Oklahoma City.

Rates to Drop

Rates have been dropping all year as economic data continues to point to a cooling economy and the likelihood that the Fed will soon lower the Federal Effective Funds Rate. Rates peaked last year around Thanksgiving, but it looks like this year, consumers may have the opportunity to be thankful for more affordable housing.

The Greater Oklahoma City Market is Already Hot

All price ranges saw a median Days on Market metric below or right at a month in August sales. These numbers are indicative of a seller-friendly market that is primed to become even more seller-slanted if more buyers are incentivized by more affordable mortgage rates.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU?

A market that has been somewhat predictable over the past year, is going to become extremely challenging to navigate over the next twelve months. You will want a professional on your side to help you maximize the opportunity!
